The Eye of God

THE EYE OF GOD
The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. – 2 Chronicles 16:7-14
NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope pictures of the Helix Nebula is a remarkable trillion-mile-long tunnel of glowing gases and at its center a dying star that has ejected dust and gas stretching toward the outer rim. The incredible photos of it look like the blue iris of a human eye complete with eyelids, which some have called it the “Eye of God.” 

Even though this isn’t the eye of God, the Scriptures tell about God’s gaze on our lives. The prophet Hanani said, “The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” (2 Chronicles 16:9).

Through the prophet Hanani his declaration of God’s all seeing eye was given in response to King Asa’s trust upon Benhadad, king of Syria for military defense. Asa had forgotten that it was the Lord God, not mere soldiers, who had given him past victories over his enemies (2 Chronicles 14:11-12). This spiritual unfaithfulness did not escape the notice of God, who seeks to pour out blessing on acts of respect to Him.

We may not be able to see the eyes of God, but we can be guaranteed that He sees us. His desire is to show Himself strong to those who are devoted to Him with their whole heart. Knowing that He sees us gives both confidence and relief.

So far as of today, I've been going to school for the pass 2-months at Carver Career Center in the Medical Transcription program. The instructor tells us we're being trained as editors in the medical field of health information management. Hopefully, I can use this advantage for my writing career. I would like being an editor.
