A Jump Start into a New Year

Image
Image via Wikipedia All is well on the West Virginia front. It was much peaceful during the Christmas holiday. I went to church service as usual. When we got the news about the Sago Mines we were all anticipating the outcome of the 13 miners trapped. As you know already it made national news. Except, there was misinformation by the media. Plus, there's other politics being sweeped under the rug. It only makes me sad about the miner 's families. My prayers go out to them. I hope that the miners were saved before they left to the other side. I think most miners are Christian . My brother-in-law works above ground but it's still a dangerous job. He's also a Christian. He brought me an artist kit for Christmas, so I'll be busy painting and drawing. I feel a Thomas Kincade scenery coming on. :) God Bless Related articles by Zemanta US families rely on handouts to survive (guardian.co.uk) Nobody's Poster Children (bilerico.com) West Virginia Health Care Author...

Makin' a List and Checkin' it Twice

Image
Image via Wikipedia I'm listening to Christmas songs on KLOVE my favorite radio station . You can get a FREE bumper sticker . I love their quarterly devotional it has lots of wisdom and teaching. I said I wasn't going to do this, but it's only a short list: (OK, so I have a weakness for stuff. I love giving most of all.) THE LIST: one movie ticket to see The Chronicles of Narnia 1 leather bound journal Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils 12" round pizza pan (not just for pizza anymore) Lots of gifts and food to give to the poor my secret miracle (they happen every day!) Peace on Earth, Goodwill toward men (The way that Jesus wanted it) A good Christmas dinner (We're having English pot roast and gravy) Other than that I'm a happy camper! God Bless Us Everyone!

Good Grief Charlie Brown What's All the Hub-Bub about Christmas?

Image
Image via Wikipedia Christmas time is here, again! Charlie Brown even knew the true meaning of the season. Let's all love one another like God done for us 2,000 years ago when he sent His only Son Jesus as the greatest gift of His eternal love. OK, so I like the occassional egg nog , the beautiful nativity scenes (my sister's church has a live drive-thru nativity every year)and giving (It more blessed to give than to receive- Isaiah 58:7-8 ; Proverbs 19:17 ). This season let's remember those who are less fortunate. Not just on this holiday but everyday. God Bless Us Everyone! My Church

Image
Image via Wikipedia My church website is up and running. The Lord has really blessed us many times over it's been countless. Jesus is the gift who keeps on giving. In a few days it will be Thanksgiving . We have alot to be thankful for. Yeah I know the real Thanksgiving, but it doesn't hurt to give thanks to the one who gave His life for mankind. No, the pilgrims didn't show their true gratitude towards the Indians . If it weren't for the Indians there would be an America today. It would still probably a peaceful hunting ground and still not have God in it. May we all realize that God loves all races and cultures and come to the knowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord and can save all if they come to Him and make Him Lord of their life. Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord. America needs Jesus. We would less to no problems if we lean on Him and make Him King. It will have a take drastic measures for that to happen and for people to believe that Jesus is real and...

The Passion at Paradise Island

Image
Image via Wikipedia A friend told me about this place called the Passion Trail at Paradise Island, West Virginia . Yes, it's an island near the Guyandotte River in Logan County (in Hatfield & McCoy country). Each year many people attend this attraction 4 times a year (Easter, Memorial Day , Labor Day and Christmas) to journey on the passion trail of the life of Jesus Christ . If you want something very different I suggest this wonderful experience. While you're there visit the Almost Heaven Gift Shop and 7th Heaven Snack Shop . To get directions to Paradise Island visit the website for more information. I love to camp out and they have accommodations for the happy camper. Check with the website for availability.
