Life in the Boonies so Far

Image
So far as of today, I've been going to school for the pass 2-months at Carver Career Center in the Medical Transcription program. The instructor tells us we're being trained as editors in the medical field of health information management. Hopefully, I can use this advantage for my writing career. I would like being an editor. I hope to be working soon. I need the money for gas to get to school and buy food, vitamins and other needed commodities. Seems most of my money goes to gas and soymilk , one to fuel my car and one to fuel me and those neurons. My routine each day begins at 6:00 AM. I say a prayer and read some from my Bible before starting the day. You know it does help when you're going to take a test on that day. It's been proven. Praise the Lord! It's Fall and the trees are beginning to turn their vibrant colors here in West Virginia. My Uncle Johnny who use to come here in the Fall time from Florida just to see the foliage. I've also been involve in

The Passion at Paradise Island

Image
Image via Wikipedia A friend told me about this place called the Passion Trail at Paradise Island, West Virginia . Yes, it's an island near the Guyandotte River in Logan County (in Hatfield & McCoy country). Each year many people attend this attraction 4 times a year (Easter, Memorial Day , Labor Day and Christmas) to journey on the passion trail of the life of Jesus Christ . If you want something very different I suggest this wonderful experience. While you're there visit the Almost Heaven Gift Shop and 7th Heaven Snack Shop . To get directions to Paradise Island visit the website for more information. I love to camp out and they have accommodations for the happy camper. Check with the website for availability. Let's not Jump to Anything

Well, I should have known that is was a bad rumor going around about the gas hike in the state of West Virginia. Although it may just happen. The oil mongols and the media are playing around with the issue and they have agendas. Can we beat the system, or be sitting ducks? It won't always last forever (the oil that is). I'll have my bicycle handy. Speaking of bikes this guy take his sport to heart. The 9-11 USA Cyclist, Don Boehly plans on cross country starting on 9-11 and ends 9-11-2006 in New York City. So far to Date: Grand Total 11,505 Miles to Huntington, West Virginia in 29 States. Do I sense bicycle sales going up in the next month or so?

The Gas Miser is Back!

Ok, here it is folks! As of 12 noon EST in Charleston, WV gas went an all time HIGH. Can we consider ourselves lucky than some countries. The Netherlands are paying close to $7.00 ($6.48 per gallon). Or let's all move to Venezuela . There they only pay $0.12 a gallon. Better yet why don't we all go on strike and hitch up our team of horses that will show the big wigs we mean business. It's in poor taste that the big oil companies would do this in the event of a national disaster. Oh, well it's time we look at alternatives like the methane burning engine. Either way we're all in the big stink!

A Letter to Jesus Christ

Dear Jesus, I've been wanting to write this letter to you in relation to everything that has happened in the past 10 years. The world has changed so much since I was born. It a wonder that I've turned out O.K. and then some. I think where most of the changes began after the time when Israel became a state on May 14, 1948 . After 10 years, I was born. Not very long afterward in the year 1962 the Supreme Court ruled that prayer to be removed from public schools. This was a time before I ever started school. I didn't have a chance to speak on my rights to say prayer. I do remember saying the pledge of allegiance one last time in my second year of grade school. I was really uncertain about my life would take a turn in the later years. Don't let anyone tell you that America and live without the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. Ever since the changing of the U.S. Constitution and the call for removing any references to God's law and not obeying it we've ever since be

As of Today, So Far

So far I've been passing my exams for my M.I.S. class. Medical Terminology is a breeze. When I go to the computer to do my typing test I go to the internet instead. I'm a blog hound and love to write. There's a challenging place where you can brush up on your typing skills. It's called learn2type.com . Hopefully I can boost my typing speed up before I leave the class. So far I'm at 52 gw.p.m. to the 60 gw.p.m., I need to have before I leave the class. I have to discipline myself more about priority stuff. I've always been fascinated by the Shroud of Turin and have been trying to find some good photos. For some of you who don't know what it is, it's believed to be the burial shroud of Jesus Christ and according to scientists some heat source had imprint the image on the cloth. Possibly the divine power of the Almighty God to raise Jesus from the dead. Is this what Jesus looks like? It's just one of the greatest mysteries to exist. In other words He do

Hurricane Katrina Risky Business

My concern after the U.S. government evacuated the survivors of Hurricane Katrina to other states, is that they didn't think of the consequences that will follow. There is risk of the spread of disease, particularly West Nile Virus and even chlorea. Maybe they should take more precaution as to quarantine. It's just a thought and a safe one. If anyone would like to donate in helping out survivors of Hurricane Katrina go to the Red Cross , Salvation Army or Feed the Children . If you like to volunteer go to Volunteer Match for more information.

The Big Easy is Hit Hard

Image
Nowadays it seems like it never ends with all the devastating storm. During the summer months we were hit with the news of the big tsunami tragedy in S. E. Asia. Now it's hit home in the states namely, Louisiana ( New Orleans ), Mississippi and Alabama. I'm sure in months time we will feel the re-precussion of all this. These people are in my prayers. I got relatives who live in Mississippi. WE here at home hope to hear from them soon. I think God is trying to tell us something. Jesus said that before His return for His church he warned of things that would happen on the earth. He mentioned it in the Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24 about the birth pangs which all of this would be more frequent and with more intensity. There will be also signs in the Heavens recorded in Luke 21: 25-26 . But don't give up hope. Just look up your redemption draws near .
