The Oil & Gas Industry Tries To Silence One Of Its OwnThere comes a time when bullies need to be dealt with. That time is now concerning a very serious matter of assassination attempts on the life of BK Lim, Geohazards Specialist, and conferee with the Gulf Oil Spill Remediation Conference in Tallahassee, FL. BK and his many deep contacts and insiders in the Oil & Gas Industry, have played an integral part in our ongoing cyber-conference for many months now. His penetrating geohazards analyses and stark geotechnical assessments of the Macondo Prospect in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) have provided a unique, objective and realistic perspective on the true state of the seafloor and sub-seafloor geological status in the wake of the sinking of the Deepwater Horizon and blown-out well.

The fact is, when an oil company wants to do some very serious drilling into unknown undersea terrain, BK is the one they look to in order to stay out of harm’s way. The truth be told, only those oil companies, as well as industry contractors and consultants, who want a genuine assessment of the risks and hazards associated with any given project go to an experienced expert such as BK Lim. He has over 30 years in the industry, has a reputation for very serious and uncompromising work, and will never “approve” a drilling site which isn’t completely safe and sound.
This is where the problem starts. The Oil & Gas Industry, in their rush for black gold (oil) is in fact moving in the opposite direction from the HSE (Health, Safety and Evironment) standards which have traditionally been in place throughout the world. Peak Oil has had it effects on the general mindset of these oil company execs and boardrooms, and the oncoming depression has not made their decision process any more sane or sober. Therefore, from this point forward, the primary criteria has become how quickly these oil drillers can hit the mother lode and extract whatever oil and gas is economically feasible in the absolute shortest period of time. Time is money to these prospectors, and many of the traditional risks and dangers associated with oil exploration and drilling are being ignored or systematically being downplayed.
BK Lim has shared with our conference that once upon a time they may have had a month to perform a specific type of study, assessment and reporting for various risk assessments concerning a drilling project. And in some cases a month was clearly not an adequate period of time to do a responsible job. Then, surprisingly, that time was shrunk to two weeks. As the years past, it was then reduced to one week, which was clearly setting up the whole HSE regime to fail systemically. Now, even the one-week time frame is under assault because of the time is money effect, as well as the mad rush to Drill Baby Drill.
This is where a specialist like BK can either “muck it up” for the prospectors or play the game. BK has done neither; he has only sought to perform in a manner that produces reports, which accurately reflect the realities on the seafloor and of the sub-seafloor geology profiles. This is also where things have gotten very dangerous for him personally, as he has offered many “armchair assessments” of the Macondo Prospect in the GOM from the viewpoint of a geohazards specialist who can spot a risk, or precarious bathymetric profile, or geotechnical red flag a whole continent away. Many of his highly technical assessments have been offered on the internet via various websites, and fly directly in the face of the barrage of dubious industry opinions being mass marketed in the mainstream media.
Living and working primarily in the Asian Rim, BK has voraciously viewed the many ROV-feed videos; countless photos, snapshots, diagrams, charts and pictures; as well as listened to the numerous audio files, many of which have quite accurately captured different perspectives on the entire evolution of the well blow-out, subsequent gushing well, and especially the transformation of the seafloor topography surrounding the wellhead. In so doing he has liberally published these assessments and opinions of the “state of the seafloor” which does not bode well for those responsible for an utterly manmade and avoidable global catastrophe in the GOM.
Having been the target of assassination attempts in the past, due to his unwillingness to compromise his work to meet the satisfaction of oil industry operatives who only wish to drill at any cost, BK has been forced to….

Thanks for your concern to all who have emailed and commented at the various sites and forums. I am safe at the moment and will write/update my column frequently to let you know I am still alive. Could not get good internet connection for online chat and forum discussion the last few days. Please use the new email add. My old one had been compromised.
I cannot reveal details yet. I am currently a fugitive constantly moving from country to country since I cannot return to my known residences and be with my family. They have tried shooting, armed assaults, staged burglaries, car chases, tailgating, stalking and 24/7 surveillance of our residences. Have no choice but to travel alone to distance the threats from my family. It is a miracle (or divine intervention) that I have escaped death on so many occasions. The most serious was an attack in front of our house by 4 “personnel” who were armed with 2ft long machetes. Miraculously, I recovered from 4 & 6 inch cuts on the crown of my head, cuts from neck down to shoulder and upper arm, abdominal thrusts to the vital organs etc. Have since recovered only by the grace of God.
Furthermore, our Thai maid was run-over and threatened with harm to reveal information on whether I was in the house, and the driver/mechanic refused to talk after the shooting. On the few occasions when I sent out the security guards/maid/wife to fix the CCTV by the public roadside (in front of the house) a pickup truck with several men would approach (sometimes on the wrong side of the road) to check if I was among them. All these were recorded on cameras. At one time I had 16 cameras installed just to prove that this was no figment of imagination, as Tim Pugh had consistently suggest.
Recent email breaches and death threats suggest that attempts on my life and my family will continue. Details of the responsible parties are programmed to be released, even if our deaths do appear to be accidental or suicidal. Hopefully by these public revelations, the contracted entities from the oil industry responsible for the threats will stand down.
