A Letter to Jesus Christ

Dear Jesus,
I've been wanting to write this letter to you in relation to everything that has happened in the past 10 years. The world has changed so much since I was born. It a wonder that I've turned out O.K. and then some. I think where most of the changes began after the time when Israel became a state on May 14, 1948. After 10 years, I was born. Not very long afterward in the year 1962 the Supreme Court ruled that prayer to be removed from public schools. This was a time before I ever started school. I didn't have a chance to speak on my rights to say prayer. I do remember saying the pledge of allegiance one last time in my second year of grade school. I was really uncertain about my life would take a turn in the later years. Don't let anyone tell you that America and live without the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. Ever since the changing of the U.S. Constitution and the call for removing any references to God's law and not obeying it we've ever since been in trouble. Since the removal of prayer in school was the result of Columbine and many other schools of today face the pain and sorrow of not knowing God in their lives and their homes.
Since America had been a nation many enemies have seen to it to destroy our freedoms. The most important is our freedom in worshipping the one true God who gave the same Ten Commandments to Moses on Mt. Sinai. Todays laws and society were built on the foundation of this freedom. Those who penned the Declaration of Independence put their lives on the line so that we could live in freedom. America the same as Israel has always been attacked because we are a nation that loves our liberty and justice. Many nations have disagreed. We still have our priviledge to live in a free society. These attacks are becoming more fervent from the times of the Reagan Administration and the Iran Contra scandal in the 1980's and into the 1990's with bombings in New York City and Oklahoma City. We've suffered deceit in our government since the Bush Administration. Our sleeping giant hadn't awaken from our idolatrous slumber, until the tragedy of September 11, 2001. After a short time we went on as nothing happened. It is said that America is a 10-day nation. It seems that it's so. Then to cover up the internal attack on America Bush declared war on Iraq. A war that still goes on to this day without cause, which has killed thousands of more innocent people. We talk alot of moral values, but do we know where to begin? We've forgotten the most important thing which is mentioned in Colossians 3:1-25.
As for me as I have reached my life to this point I've grown closer to you and your Word. All the tragedies and catastrophes that have happened everywhere your Word that remains true has come to past. That no matter what-if they remove all physical evidence of your Word they can't take it from my heart. Even when the mountains fall and the seas rage on you're always there. You said you'd never leave us nor forsake us. How long will your mercy be upon America? Your patience is beyond understanding. It says in Psalms 33:12 - Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. I've had a dream that if every home in America lived for the LORD just imagine what a place it would be. Even in these times of trouble we face now it's not going to get any better. There is hope in you. It will have to be up to each of us to make that most important decision in our lives before this life is over for good. These things are to come to past and the end of this age will move on into eternity. I'm looking forward to the Day that you will return and create a New Heaven and a New Earth. And, there will be no more war, no more.

Love,
Your Child
